IT Alert: Increased Spam & Phishing Activity

Incident Report for California Closets

Investigating

We are currently experiencing a temporary increase in spam email activity that may include phishing links or malicious attachments. You may notice a higher-than-normal volume of unsolicited or repetitive emails in your inbox.

In addition, some users have been contacted on Microsoft Teams by an external sender impersonating IT Support. They attempted to call users and initiate remote sessions.

Please remain vigilant and take the following precautions:
• Do not click on suspicious links or download unexpected attachments.
• Be cautious of emails requesting login credentials, MFA approvals, or sensitive information.
• Do not accept Teams calls or remote session requests from unknown or external users.
• Only Connection should be contacting you for IT support.
• If you are unsure, hang up and call back Connection directly at 844-453-1216 to verify.
• If you believe you may have clicked a malicious link or engaged with a suspicious caller, contact IT right away.

We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
